Nikos Takis



Dr. Nikolaos Takis earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the National University of Athens, with a specialty in the psychosocial adjustment of immigrant adolescents and their families. He also received an M.S. in clinical psychology and a B.A. in psychology from the same university. After working for four years in the field of prevention of mental health of the community in the municipalities of Filothei and Imittos, he joined the Detoxification Unit (18 ANO) of the Psychiatric Hospital of Attica, where he worked as a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist from 2000 until 2014. Since 2006 he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in his specialty in the University of Athens. Since 2010 he is an assistant Professor of Psychology in the American College of Greece and since 2014 he is the Director of the Counseling Center of the College that he founded in collaboration with the other clinical faculty members. Dr. Takis is in private practice since 2002 and a certified trainer in Psychodrama. He was awarded the title of the Psychodramatist by the Greek Psychodrama Society in 2004. He received his training as a Psychodrama Trainer from the Institute Psychodrama Forum Berlin, directed by Gabi Stiegler. In 2010 he founded the Psychodrama training institute “Endohora”, which he still directs. Since 2014 he is a member in training of the Hellenic Psychoanalytical Society. In 2016 he completed his training in Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP), and was certified as an accredited therapist specialized in TFP. In the same year he completed his training as a Psychoanalyst of Groups and since 2017 he is a full member of the French Association of Psychoanalytic Group Psychotherapy (S.F.P.P.G.) and the Greek Society for the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy of Groups (H.A.P.G.P). Current research interests include issues of adaptation of immigrant adolescents, juvenile delinquency and addictions. He is a member of the Greek Psychological Society and was a member of the executive board the Professional Association of Greek Psychologists from 1997 until 1999. Since 2015 he is a member of the Board of FEPTO (Federation of the European Psychodrama Training Associations). He is currently the president of FEPTO.
